EURO 2004: FRENCHMAN Didier Gaignerot knows exactly which side his croissant is buttered.
The owner of Swanky's restaurant in Faringdon Road has respect for David Beckham, but he reckons the England skipper will be running in French striker Thierry Henry's shadow on Sunday.
Mr Gaignerot, 37, said: "Beckham has a lot of skill but Henry is the ultimate daddy of football. He has more tricks.
"It'll be a really exciting game and quite close but I think France will win 1-0."
The trained chef moved to England from Bordeaux 18 years ago.
After a year in London he moved to Swindon for a job at the Goddard Arms Hotel in Old Town. He now has a wife, Stephanie, and two young daughters.
Mr Gaignerot said he was resisting bets with his confident English pals, but it is testing his willpower. He added: "I could make a lot of money if I accepted the offers."
