FUEL FOR THOUGHT: While everyone in business agrees that a petrol crisis would be terrible news for industry, there may be ways to mitigate the problem.
Miracle Services provides IT support and services to companies and is one of the technology firms now helping firms to enable employees to work from home.
MD Stuart Penny said there is a trend towards this which helps not just with fuel issues but also, for example, with maternity leave.
However, a large part of Miracle's work in servicing a firm's computer system can be done from its offices in Dorcan regardless of where their clients are.
Mr Penny said: "There are instances where we have to go to the site, such as when something really dire has happened or there is a new machine to install, but maintenance and service we can usually carry out remotely."
But Miracle would not be unaffected by any fuel crisis.
Mr Penny said: "Rising costs of fuel still have an effect because my staff still have to go to sites, and to generate business I have to meet new people."
