A MISSILE was thrown at a local man as he drove through the Market Place in Fordingbridge last week.
Police are linking the incident with three similar offences that occurred in the town centre between 9pm on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
About 10pm, the man attacked was driving his silver VW Passat along High Street, when something struck the side of his car.
He noticed two male figures standing in the archway near the Ship Inn and gave a description of them to police.
One youth is described as 13 to 14 years old, with short, dark brown hair.
The other is said to be to be aged 12 to 13, of slim build, with short, light-brown hair and very distinctive rotten teeth.
Also that night, three windows were smashed in the Roundhill area - the rear windscreen of a Peugeot parked in the main car park, a single layer of a double-glazed window at High Field House dental surgery and a double-glazed window at Fordingbridge library.
Police are not linking these crimes with a spate of incidents across the Forest last week, which involved ball-bearing guns.
Sergeant Tim Adams, of Fordingbridge Police, said: "It's quite away from the other incidents, and any link would be speculative."
