Prince Charles will be helping Marlborough celebrate its 800th anniversary in person.
The prince is due to arrive on Friday at 10.45am and Marlborough College is his first port of call.
He will unveil a commemor-ative stone at King John's hunting lodge, on the college site.
The prince is then scheduled to pop into Waitrose super-market.
He will be using the shop as a means of reaching the High Street after visiting Hilliers Yard behind the store.
He will also see the site of the proposed Riverbank theatre and cinema.
By noon the prince will be meeting residents, schoolchildren and groups on a traditional royal walkabout.
In the afternoon he will be shown the Merchant's House by the chairman of its trustees, Sir John Sykes.
After greeting more people, the prince will see the revamped town hall, where the mayor, Graham Francis, will officially welcome him to Marlborough. Another plaque will be unveiled at the town hall.
The prince's visit is part of the town's celebrations, which include a children's party, procession of Wiltshire mayors and a thanksgiving service.
