Ref. 30881-70CHILDREN marvelled at miniature trains at the first event of the Purton carnival.
The village hall was packed with young and old alike as a model railway exhibition took place there on Saturday.
About £200 was raised for the village charity Helping Hand.
Carnival organiser Lynda Warren said about 300 people turned up during the day.
"We had exhibitors from all over the south west. It was very well attended," she said.
"We have not had a model railway exhibition for a couple of years but it was definitely worth trying again."
The village will be busy with range of events, culminating with the carnival fete and procession on June 26.
This year's carnival procession differs from previous years.
Starting at Restrop View at 2.15pm, it will wend its way down through the village, turning off into Witts Lane before entering the Common Field off Vasterne Hill.
