A WILTSHIRE company creating an inhaled alternative to Viagra has announced plans to float on the stock exchange.
Vectura, based in Chippenham, is hoping to raise between £20 million and £25 million which will be used to develop its range of inhaled drugs, which include treatments for erectile dysfunction and lung disease.
While Viagra can take an hour to act when in pill form, Vectura's VR004 stimulant reaches the bloodstream within eight minutes.
The company hopes the flotation will raise enough money to take the drugs to the end of second phase trials. Vectura employs 80 people in Chippenham and 20 people in Cambridge.

It will then look to start a partnership to develop and market the substances.
Shares are expected to be priced between 70p and 84p and the offering is likely to happen in July.
