CASTLE Combe Colts did the double at the fourth Wootton Bassett Town tournament.

The Mid Wilts League outfit did the business in the under nine and under 13 categories but both of their respective finals went to the wire.

The under nines won on the golden goal rule against hosts Wootton Bassett Town A after Charlie Austin headed Castle Combe to victory.

The final had limited chances before Austin rose to head past Ellis Embling after a dangerous corner.

Combe also prevented an all-Bassett final after seeing off the B team with another golden goal in the semis.

The under 13 side won in equally tense fashion, defeating Highworth Juniors in the fourth round of sudden death penalties.

The game itself was close with few chances the best falling to Ryan Thomas of Highworth.

After both keepers missed their spot kicks it was back to stage one as Castle Combe scored before Highworth put the decisive penalty wide of the post.

In the Under 12s tournament, FC Chippenham A triumphed over Shaw with a solitary first half goal from near the half way line.

This was the sides second meeting in the tournament after FC Chippenham beat Shaw 3-0 in the earlier tie.

Henry Trass scored a dramatic golden goal for Shaw in the Under 11's final after a goalless normal period.

Trass headed in from a Dominic Rekowski cross with seconds to go. Liden were unlucky though as the Shaw defence held to earn extra time but it was Shaw who went away victors and finished the tournament unbeaten.

Cricklade claimed the Under 7's Sportsmanship Trophy after earning a near perfect of 9.8 out of ten from their five games.

Lydiard Youth A lifted the keenly contested Under 8 Sportsmanship trophy after averaging 9.8 marks out of 10 from their five games.
