Gloucester City Girls achieved a remarkable feet as they won both the Under 12 Girls and Under 14 Girls tournaments at the fourth annual Wootton Bassett Town tournament, writes Stuart Smedley.
The Under 12s came through 3-1 on penalties against Swindon Badgers in a game which ended deadlocked after extra time.
This meant the side had finished the tournament with six wins out of six.
Jodie Hennessy struck twice as the Under 14 side claimed a 2-0 victory over Chippenham Town and again finished up dropping no points in the tournament.
Shrewton United beat Bristol City JSC 3-2 on penalties to lift the Under 10 title after the game ended up 0-0 after extra time.
Shrewton also reached the final on penalties after seeing off Castle Combe by the same score.
Swindon Spitfires Football Club is holding a Summer Fun Day at South Marston Rec on Saturday, June 19.
The event is targetted at any girl aged between 7 and 15 years of age interested in football.
The fun day will start at 10 am with the cost £2.50.
At 2pm, the club is holding trials for all girls and women aged 14 and above who are interested in playing competitve football next season.
