JERIL IFIL is set to complete his permanent switch to Swindon after agreeing personal terms with the club and Stefani Miglioranzi and Sam Parkin should still be around to welcome him aboard.

Ifil and his agent met with Town chief executive Mark Devlin after Watford accepted an undisclosed offer believed to be in the region of £70,000 last week.

'The Beast' has accepted Town's package and will complete his move once the transfer has been given the all clear by the Football League.

Devlin said: "We have agreed personal terms, but like everything it is subject to Football League approval especially when there is a transfer fee involved.

"We will do everything we can to speed that process up and hopefully the move can be concluded at the end of this week or the start of next."

Devlin enjoyed a productive day of negotiations.

As well as securing the services of Ifil, Miglioranzi's representatives were happy with a new contract offered to the holidaying midfielder and it appears the Brazilian-born New Yorker is ready to extend his stay in Wiltshire.

"We have moved a step closer to agreeing a deal with Stef," confirmed Devlin.

"I've come to a verbal agreement with his agent and the feeling I get is that he will sign."

There was further good news for Town as the club successfully staved off the advances of at least one of Sam Parkin's many admirers.

Hull City will not be increasing their £250,000 offer for the Swindon striker which was dismissed last week.

The newly-promoted Tigers were expected to up their club record offer in a bid to land the 23-year-old Town striker as a replacement for long-term injury victim Ben Burgess.

But chairman Adam Pearson is refusing to up the ante and is set to switch his attentions to their other primary target Bristol City's Lee Peacock.

While Hull have cooled their interest in Parkin, Devlin is resigned to the fact that other clubs will be trying to prise the forward from the County Ground this summer.

But any potential suitors will have to raise the stakes considerably.

Said Devlin: "I felt £250,000 was below the going rate for Sam and after speaking to the Hull chairman I didn't get the feeling he was going to up their offer.

"If you have a striker who scores 20 goals a season other clubs are going to come in for him.

"I can't stop clubs from doing that but I'm only interested in doing my best to make sure Sam Parkin remains a Swindon player next season."

HULL may have missed out on Parkin, but manager Peter Taylor expects to sign ex-Town loanee Junior Lewis.

The defender is set to join the Tigers after being released by Leicester.
