THIS weekend sees the second Salisbury Motor Show to be held in the picturesque grounds of Wilton House, the stately home of the Pembroke family.

Wilton Park proved to be a successful venue last year following its move from its traditional home at Hudson's Field, near Old Sarum.

This year the organisers have built on the success of last year's show with more stands and attractions for the family.

There will be more than 200 models of car on display from all the major dealerships in the Salisbury area. Many of these will be the very latest models so punters can have a good look around and make up their minds before choosing their new car.

On Saturday local racing driver Alan Blencowe will be at the show, to sign autographs and meet his fans, along with his race-prepared Honda Civic Type-R.

Classic and vintage cars will be on display and the organisers are hoping this attraction will grow to become a major event.

A special area in the centre of the showground is being set aside for the vintage and classic cars, which can be displayed free of charge.

There will be things for the children to see and do helping to make the two-day show a family event.

Entrance is free, there will be test drives available, plenty of advice from experts on every stand and once the tour of the show is complete there is always Wilton House and its magnificent grounds to explore.

The show, staged by Salisbury Newspapers, publishers of the Journal and Avon Advertiser series in partnership with Spire FM, will be open from 10am until 5pm on Saturday and 10am until 4pm on Sunday.
