THE son of a former vicar of Wilton receives the OBE.
Dr Peter White, whose father, the late Reverend David White, was Wilton's vicar for seven years during the 1970s, is honoured for services to research at London's St Bartholomew's Hospital. Dr White is a consultant at Barts and has been involved in research work there for 15 years.
He lives in London and is married with two children.
His mother, Evelyn, who lives in Salisbury, and is a former president of the local branch of the Burma Star Association, said: "I am so very proud of him."
