Ref. 30929-51A LIGHT scattering of snow is expected in Swindon next month . . .
And drinkers at The Abbeys Mead pub in Elstree Way had better wrap up.
The alehouse will be holding a Christmas party on July 17 to help raise money for NSPCC Swindon.
Management, keen to add a touch of authenticity, are hoping to hire a snow machine.
And staff will be donning Santa and fairy outfits.
Clare Henderson, who is organising the unseasonable festivities, said: "We just wanted to do something a bit out of the ordinary.
"We will be serving Christmas dinners throughout the day with turkey and all the trimmings.
"And at night there will be a disco with all the classic Christmas songs it'll be a great day."
The event is free but drinkers are asked to bring a present, which will find its way to needy children.
If weather conditions are right and the homemade snow settles, a snowball fight could be on the cards.
"There will be a scattering, but not enough for a snowman," added Clare.
The dinners will be served between 11.30am and 9pm. No booking is required.
