A PLEA is being made for more funding for Wootton Bassett Town Council for litter collection in the town.
Councillor Chris Wannell will ask North Wiltshire District Council the authority responsible for street cleaning to contribute more money.
The town council provides a top-up service in addition to the one provided by the district, which only covers the town centre.
Town council staff collect and dispose of about 800 bags of litter a day.
Coun Wannell will ask the district council to fund the disposal of the litter once it is collected .
He will be asking the amenities committee to support his representation at a meeting tomorrow at 7.45pm in the Council Chamber, Station Road.
