GAZETTE & HERALD: Innovative Parisian theatre company Friche Theatre Urbain will bring colour, glamour and a taste of the exotic to Corsham High Street on Saturday June 26.
The vibrant company specialises in outdoor performances, and festival-goers will be delighted by their two free shows, at 10am and later at 10pm, the festival finale.
They will perform Chamade during the town's annual French market morning.
Chamade is a fantasy promenade, a moving allegory of life, death, love, and the death of love. Lola, a diminutive and frail septuagenarian, takes off to look for her long lost lover. Amor and Sexus, two horsemen on child-size stilts, appear to accompany her on her final journey.
Chamade is light and funny with delicate scenes, exotic dances and mimed sequences.
The night show will be the dramatic Mephisto, an adaptation of the myth of Faust and Mephistopheles.
This dazzling promenade performance features three performers, music and stilt walkers, with fabulous costumes and pyrotechnics .
