A CELEBRATION of youth in the Pewsey area will be taking place on July 3. The Pewsey Area Youth Festival and Community Fete will be taking place from 2pm to 5pm at the sports centre on Wilcot Road.
A whole range of fun-filled activities is being organised, including skating demonstrations, emergency services displays, and a football tournament for under tens where children can join in teams that will be made up on the day.
A car boot sale is planned, to raise funds for the eco-friendly agricultural unit at Pewsey School.
A cheque for money already raised will be presented to the Pewsey Area Community Trust by a well-known footballer, whose name will be announced later, with funds going towards local youth soccer teams.
The fun will carry on in the evening as The Shak youth club is putting on a barbecue with three live bands as entertainment.
The youth festival is a joint venture by the Pewsey Area Community Trust, the parish council, the sports centre and Shak. The aim is to celebrate youth in the area and show what young people can do.
