13335/2Pupils at Woodborough Primary School swapped lessons for environmental art activities last week with a week-long event, focusing on art using natural materials.
The 124 students at the school all took part in the event, which was organised by art co-ordinator and class teacher Abi Waller, and took the place of the regular timetable.
The event was busy and varied; pupils took part in weaving a willow sculpture, sculpting with papier-mache, printing T-shirts, making masks, painting with natural materials, and a pavement art competition.
With the help of local artist Julie Goodden, they also made a wooden frieze on which they represented their views of the environment.
Parents were invited to the culmination of the event on Friday, to view the projects produced and to watch the presentation of prizes for the pavement art competition.
