Division One - MARSHFIELD continue unbeaten as they gained a comfortable eight wicket victory at Collingbourne.

They bowled their hosts out for 130 and then thanks to John Williams (59) and Mike Watson (45) had little trouble in reaching the target.

Great Bedwyn however still head the table as they made 238-7 at home to struggling Nationwide House, with Darren Freegard (61), Alistair Tuttle (66), and George Stone (43) heading the run getters.

Darren then completed a fine afternoon's work as he picked up 6-23 in 10 overs; and with Justin Bailey taking 4-29 in 15 they bowled Nationwide out for 95 in the 36th over.

Box broke their duck with a 21-run home success over Purton. Neil Petit (35) top scored in their 214 all out as Neil Carter took 4-79 in 13 overs. Despite 75 from Mark Gardener, Purton were dismissed for 193 with 11 balls remaining. Neil Petit took 3-11.

Potterne sprang something of a surprise as they defeated visitors Westinghouse by 66 runs. Thanks to a fine 100 not out from Graham Gaiger, supported by Phil Oliver (37) and Sam Gaiger (26), Potterne closed on 222-7. John Cleverley, 3-34 in 13 overs, and John Peters, 2-24 in five, were the pick of the visitors' bowlers. Peters then hit an excellent 75, but only Paul Burtenshaw (25) gave him much help as Westinghouse were bowled out for 156; Neil Dorn taking 6-49 in 15 overs and Ricky Jackson 3-44 in 7.5 overs.

An exciting match at Bath Civil service saw the home side lose narrowly by six runs to Calne. Calne scored 199-5 thanks to Chris Downham (95 not out) and Liam Botes (52). Liam then picked up 3-37 in 12 overs as, despite the efforts of John Down (69), Richard Carlin (31 not out) and Chris Keal (36) the Civil Service closed on 193-8.

Division Two

TWO points now cover the top three sides following Lechlade's first defeat at Spye Park, a victory which gave them the leadership.

Spye made 232-6 with Phil Alsop (59 not out), Andy Ellis (34) and John Haines (31) the top scorers and extras contributing 51. Dave Beal then took 5-49 in 15 overs as Mike Southall (41) was the top scorer in the Lechlade total of 174 all out.

In third place are Urchfont who won a high scoring game at Beanacre by four wickets. Beanacre made 242-8, with Andy Footner making a rapid 81 in 38 balls and Owen Lewis (55) and Roy Veacock (34) giving valuable support.

Wade Welliams, 4-54 in 15 overs, was the pick of Urchfont's bowlers. Cosmo Cupid blasted a quick fire 119 and 37 from Phil Slater saw Urchfont home in the 38th over.

At the foot of the table Burbage and ER still seek a first win. Roger Barker (59) and 48 extras helped them to 192-9 at home to Buscot Park, with Keith Steel taking 4-48 in 15 overs. Steel then top scored with 88 not out as Buscot won by five wickets with an over remaining.

Another high scoring match was at Sutton Veny where the home side gained an exciting one run win over visiting Swindon Civil Service. The home side made 264-9 with Rob Robson (101), Colin Brown (53) and Andy Frost (51) the major contributors.

Brown then picked up 4-69 in 15 overs and despite the efforts of Nick Money (68 not out) and Pete Money (44) the Civil Service closed tantalisingly short at 263-7.

Cooper-Avon Tyres entertained Seagry and restricted them to 179-9. Then, with Steve Rendell 6making an unbeaten 68 they gained a welcome six wicket victory with eight overs to spare.

Division Three

AVEBURY continue to set the pace as they remain undefeated following a comfortable home eight wicket victory over Lambourn.

The visitors were bowled out for 109 of which Paul Annetts made 35 as Dave Osbourme took 4-43 in 15 overs and Greg Dix 4-5 in 4.5 overs. Dominis Fry (42 not out) and Dix (40 not out) then steered Avebury home with 11 overs in hand.

Highworth slip to the foot of the table after a six wicket home defeat at the hands of Wroughton Wranglers. Mark McMekin, 6-39 in 15 overs, and Alan Stratford, 2-22 in 15, were largely responsible for bowling Highworth out for 93. Mike Gregory (28) then top scored in Wroughton's 95-4.

Heytesbury restricted visiting Moredon Royal Oak to 148-8 in which Roger Morton (58) and Brian Seller (27) top scored. Rob Barnes, 3-32 in 15 overs, and Justin Wagstaff , 3-48 in 12 were the main Heytesbury bowlers. Wagstaff (38), Richard Jelf (43), Barnes (18 not out) and Oliver Stephens (23 not out) then helped the home side to a six wicket win with eight overs remaining.

Swindon 3rds made 223 all out, with John Parkinson (36) and Mark Parkinson (35) top scoring, in their home encounter with Cherhill. Mike McConachy (51) then top scored in the visitors 164 all out as Dave O'Neil picked up 3-35, as did Prasad.

Division Four

BRADFORD Town consolidated top spot as they defeated third placed Litten Tree by five wickets.

Litten Tree were bowled out for 132 with Mark Harrington taking 5-27 in 11.1 overs, helped by Dean Bird, 2-33, and Sam Edwards, 2-31. James Pike (74 not out) and James Edwards (20) then steered Bradford home as Dean Brown took 3-30 in 12 overs for Litten Tree.

Wilcot go second following their comprehensive win at Coates. Ilcot made 226-6 thanks mainly to Greg Staplin's 103. Steve Unitt then bagged seven cheap wickets as Coates were hustled out for just 58.

At Mildenhall, visiting Dauntsey Gentlemen rattled up 267-5, thanks to Pat Scotfield (66) and Tony Summers (58 not out). Scotfield then took 5-14 in 10.4 overs to help bowl Mildenhall out for 69.

A close game at Bathford saw the home side triumph by eight runs against Corsham 3rds Bathford, thanks to Paul Merrett (37), Pete Ackland (36) and Steve Ball (33) closed at 212-7. Joe Shillaker, 3-38 in eight overs was the pick of the Corsham bowlers. Matthew Unwin (49), Luke White (38), James Lye (29) and Chris Bush (29) then saw Corsham to 204-8, with Lee Tucker, 2-30 in 10 overs, and Paul Merrett, 2-44 in nine, the pick of the Bathford attack.

Keevil were in some trouble at 62-4 at home to Westbury 3rds, but Dick Waylen ,with his first ever century, (102 not out) and Ben Gunstone then helped them to close at 225-7. Westbury in reply were held to 170-6

Division Five

UNITED Churches' unbeaten record went as they were comprehensively beaten at Marshfield 2nds.

The home side made 235-7 thanks largely to Dan Hill (121 not out). Rob Iles then picked up 5-19 in nine overs as Churches were dismissed for 139.

Purton 2nds moved up to join them in second place after they scored 209-4 at home to Devizes 3rds, Dave Allen (63) and Adam Miles (56) top scoring. Neil Wookey (54 not out) then top scored in the Devizes response of 167-6.

Buscot Park 2nds gained their first success with a resounding ten wicket home win over Burbage & ER 2nds. Burbage scored 145-9, with Bob Cady making 54 and Giles Townsend taking 4-21 in 11 overs and Will Townsend 2-38.

Des Williams (60 not out) and Andy Moreby (57 not out) then knocked off the runs off in 28.1 overs.

Warminster 3rds visited Westinghouse 2nds and scored 152 all out, Colin Webb (31) top scoring as Andy Day took 4-52 in 15 overs and John Haines 4-72 in 15. Alan Meller (44) and Steve Day (37) then helped the home side to come agonisingly close as the finished on 150-8 when their overs ran out. Dave Watkins took 3-10 in four overs.

Division Six

THE meeting of the undefeated top two ended in a narrow two wicket win for Nettleton over visiting Beehive Bradford in a low scoring game.

Beehive were bowled out for 87 as Ian Witt took 4-12 in six overs and Ian Sandell 5-27 in 9.5. For Beehive Mike Reeves top scored with 24 and Graham Fone made 19. Adie Day, 5-13 in 15 overs, and Andy Goddard, 3-30 in 14.2, reduced Nettleton to 57-8, but Ian Wett (24), Andy Cousins (14 not otu) and Ian Sandell (14 not out) saw Nettleton home with nine overs remaining.

Box 2nds continue to struggle as they lost by 39 runs at Lacock. They dismissed their hosts for just 117, but then a fine spell of bowling from long serving Clive Harding, who set a club league best as he took 8-18 in 15 overs, including a hat-trick saw Box bowled out for 78.

Wootton Bassett 3rds lost again as they went down by 80 runs at home to Bradford Town 2nds. Bradford made 190 all out with Bassett 110 all out in reply.

Goatacre 3rds visited All Cannings and, thanks mainly to Andy Donegan (71 not out) closed on 147-8 as Andy Goodall took 4-42 in 15 overs and Keith Bills 2-53 in 14. Steve Parker (32 not out), Andy Legg (31) and Alan Clark (23) then helped All Cannings to a four wicket success with four overs to spare.

Calne 2nds scored 195 all out at home to Chippenham 3rds, with Tom Knight (46), Garry Garland (41) and Will Venter (30) top scoring as Steve Merryweather took 5-67. Despite 59 from Ray Bullen, Chippenham were restricted to 153-9 as Well took 4-36 and Garland 3-48.

Division Seven

POTTERNE 2nds gained their first league success with a six wicket win at leaders Cherhill 2nds.

They bowled the home side out for 169 with Chris Sadler taking 5-40 in 10 overs as Dave Hewings (51), Steve Hutchinson (42) and James Beattie (39) made most of the Cherhill runs. In response Alan Wrench made an unbeaten 48 and help from John Down 35 and Adam Sainsbury 25 saw Potterne home. This defeat helped Trowbridge A and Collingbourne 2nds to move up to joint leadership.

At Trowbridge John Adcock (91) and Dave Compton (38) helped visiting Beanacre 2nds to 192-8. The pick of the Trowbridge bowlers were Stephen Chalk, with 3-19 in seven overs, and Dave Gibson, 2-8 in six. With all their top batsmen getting runs, led by Stephen Neate (38) and Andy Jefferies (38) Trowbridge went on to win by five wickets with an over to spare.

Corsham 4ths entertained Collingbourne 2nds and had 71 extras (including 54 wides) to thank for their final total of 199-8. Pick of the visiting bowlers was John Dandy, with 2-47 in his 15 overs Having pulled a muscle he then batted with a runner and hit a very rapid 44, which with Andy Stamp's unbeaten 86 saw Collingbourne to a four wicket victory with 14 balls to spare. For Corsham, Martin Hick bowled well, taking 4-57 in 13 overs.

Marshfield 3rds had John Clegg's 67 not out and Martin Roper's 32 to thank as they scored 161-3 at home to Cooper-Avon Tyres 2nds. Paul Hunt, with 1-33 in 15 overs, was the pick of the visitors' bowlers. Roger Hillman (51), Mike Cox (31 not out) and Chris Shearn (48 not out) then helped Cooper-Avon to a six wicket win with overs to spare.

Bath Civil Service 2nds raced to 291-6 at Dauntsey Gentlemen 2nds, thanks to a fine 141 from Mark Thorn. He had valuable support from Andy Carlin (40), Bryan Price (47) and Nick Clifford (35). Phil Smith bowled well to take 3-42 in nine overs. Dauntsey then collapsed to their lowest ever league total as they were bundled out for 33, with Rob Bathe, 4-13 in five overs, and Richard Cope, 3-16 in five, taking just 11.1 overs to complete the destruction.

Division Eight

BIDDESTONE 3rds maintained their unbeaten record and in so doing moved to the top of the division.

Visiting Bathford 2nds scored 157-8, with Simon Machin (27) top scoring as Mike Tasker took 4-41 in 15 overs. Kevin Mitchell (42) and Aaron Pearce (40) then steered Biddestone to a narrow two wicket success with two overs to spare. Luke Cousins, with 3-34, was the pick of the visitors' bowlers.

Chippenham 4ths surrendered top place and their unbeaten record as they went down at home by 62 runs to Swindon 4ths. Swindon scored 237-2, thanks to Wayne Steptoe (92), Danny Baker (58) and Sandip Ruprai (44 not out). Taff Davis (53) top scored in the Chippenham reply of 175 all out as Stephen Cole picked up 3-38 in 14 overs.

Swindon United Churches 2nds' improvement continued as they scored 241-8 at home to All Cannings 2nds, thanks mainly to Mike Offer (40), and Gareth Pike (39 not out). In reply only 49 from Garry Hopkins enabled the visitors to make 125 all out.

Warminster 4ths' bad run continued as they slipped to bottom place after being bowled out for 88 at home to Blunsdon 2nds. Mark Wilson, 3-21 in eight overs, and Dave Wallen, 3-14 in 4.3, did most of the damage.

With John Henley making 38 and Phil Usher 25 not out Blunsdon coasted to an eight wicket victory.

Scott Landis had a good day for Highworth 2nds, top scoring with 51 in their 190-9 and then taking 5-45 at Devizes 4ths as they were bowled out for 117. Garry Pearce made 44.
