DRUNKEN Mark Hiscock who assaulted two Devizes market traders has been electronically tagged.
Hiscock, 30, was given a curfew order for three months by magistrates in Devizes.
The order means Hiscock must remain in his home in Roseland Avenue, Devizes, between the hours of 8pm and 6am. The electronic tag will check his whereabouts.
The order was made after magistrates on Tuesday heard he committed common assault on two men, Barrie Thompson, 61, and Leonard Webb, 58.
Mr Thompson, who had an existing heart condition, suffered a mild heart attack following the assault but his consultant was unable to confirm the attack caused it.
The men were assaulted in the Little Brittox as they were walking towards the Market Place on December 9.
They are traders in the covered market in The Shambles.
Rachael Hume, prosecuting, said Hiscock and another man Thomas Todd were talking to some girls under the archway between The Shambles and Terry's Chemist.
She said the victims were a little wary of Hiscock and Mr Todd as they had been involved in an altercation in The Brittox earlier.
They ignored them as they walked by and for no apparent reason Hiscock ran up behind Mr Webb and kicked him on the backside.
Mr Thompson tried to assist Mr Webb but Hiscock punched him in the face.
Stephen Clifford, defending, said: "Mr Hiscock told the police that he was extremely sorry for any pain and discomfort he had caused these gentlemen and wished to apologise to them."
The magistrates also ordered Hiscock to pay Mr Thompson £75 compensation.
