13352/1MORE than 100 people attended the annual civic service of Devizes Mayor Margaret Taylor.
Among the dignitaries were Sir Maurice Johnston, the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire, Judge John McNaught, the Honorary Recorder of Devizes, Coun Allan Peach, Wiltshire County Council chairman, Jenny Combe, Kennet District Council chairman, Dr Jeremy Bradbrooke of the British Red Cross, Lt Col Anthony Lake of the Royal Gloucester, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment and Sgt Steve Cox of Devizes police.
A group of seven musicians from Waiblingen, Devizes' twin town in Germany, played church music during the service.
They are all members of the Moosmann family, who have been friends with Coun Taylor and her husband Ray, for more than 30 years. They played at Mr Taylor's civic service when he was mayor.
