13334/1PUPILS and staff at Nursteed Community Primary School in Devizes enjoyed dressing up as book characters to raise money for charity.
Everyone dressed up in fancy dress last Friday following a reading week at the school. Each child was asked to pay £1 and money raised from the day will go to the NSPCC.
The day was the suggestion of pupils Stephanie Hatt and Paige Ruskin, both aged ten, and Summer Skinner, aged nine.
Headteacher David Sibun said: "The pupils came to me and asked if we could set aside a day for pupils and staff to dress up in fancy dress. They had seen an advert for the NSPCC and were moved by what they had seen.
"It was nice that they came up with the idea and to raise money to help other children who are a bit less fortunate than themselves."
Mr Sibun dressed as Grumpy and there was also Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and the Seven Dwarfs.
"We all paraded around the hall in the morning," said Mr Sibun.
