IN last week's Gazette & Herald I was very disappointed to see professional people writing disparagingly about the consultant developers, Gillespies.
When I was fortunate enough to be elected to a professional institute it was impressed upon me never to 'talk bad' about other professional people who are just as qualified in their profession as I was.
Could I suggest that the real problem is that none of us locals know to what brief the consultants were working and perhaps they were 'advised' by Kennet District Council to put housing and retail development ahead of car parking provisions.
If someone could provide a copy of the brief and if the Gazette would publish a prcis of it then perhaps a lot more would be revealed. Then we would be in a position to make informed comments.
