13331/2GAZETTE & HERALD: Two Chippenham primary schools are celebrating the award of a Silver Art Mark a tribute to their efforts to promote creativity and the arts in school life.
Charter School and Redland School both submitted detailed evidence in a hefty application about the role of the arts in the schools, and the ways youngsters were encouraged to develop their talents in the creative arts painting, sculpture, drama, music, writing and dance.
"We are absolutely delighted," said Stella Paul, headteacher at Charter.
"It was a whole school effort, and all the teachers made an input.
"We work very hard on the arts, because children need to learn to be creative."
Hilary Walton, headteacher at Redland said: "It is a fabulous recognition of the work we do in the school."
