WILTSHIRE County Council is planning to raise the profile of men's health among its staff.
In Men's Health Week the council will be focusing on bowel, testicular and prostate cancer.
A doctor will give staff presentations about how to recognise the symptoms and seek early medical help.
The council's occupational health and safety manager, Paul Collyer, said: "Historically men's cancers have not had the same profile as women's cancers yet cancer is the most common cause of male deaths in the UK.
"It is important that as many men as possible know how to check themselves."
One in three men will have cancer at some point in their lifetime and a quarter will die from the disease.
