Charity fundraisers sampled life in the fast lane this week in preparation for an annual ladies' driving challenge.
Marie Curie Cancer Care fundraisers, Sophie Kinsman and Clair Cusack, visited Castle Combe to try out performance cars in the run up to the event.
Miss Kinsman has laid down the challenge to join in the fun at RAF Colerne on August 14.
She said: "Ladies get ready to grab your gear sticks, because it's back. The Marie Curie Ladies' Driving Challenge gives a unique opportunity for ladies only to experience the thrill of driving a wide range of vehicles."
As well as high-powered cars, vehicles on offer will include fire engines, 40ft articulated lorries, police cars, 4x4s, double decker buses and diggers.
Miss Kinsman said: "This is a chance for us ladies to rally together and put an end to those jokes about women drivers once and for all. It is a great day out for all ages, good fun and a real adventure. And all
participants will be helping patients with terminal cancer to achieve their wish to die at home, supported by their families.
"It's always been a popular day, so I would urge anyone interested to book their place as soon as possible."
Registration costs £10 and participants are asked to raise £100 sponsorship towards their local Marie Curie nursing service. For further details contact Sophie or Clair on 0117 924 7275 or email clair.cusack@mariecurie.org.uk
