28348A group of Trowbridge pensioners have been shedding pounds to raise cash for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Marjory Cornish, Lilly Matthews, Avis Newman and five of their friends, who are all in their late 60s and 70s and live at Teazle Ground Court sheltered accommodation, presented the charity with £130 on Friday.
They have lost 116lbs between them since they first started slimming in mid January.
Every Wednesday they weigh-in after their keep-fit class and pay 25 pence each time.
The money, as well as donations from some of the other 32 people who live in the flats, is saved for the charity.
Mrs Cornish said: "After Christmas everybody started to feel a bit overweight.
"We're trying to cut out cakes and biscuits and eat sensibly and we have become a little bit more conscious of what we eat.
"It is important to eat healthily and if it makes you feel better that is a bonus."
