28378FOOTBALL fever has taken over a street in Trowbridge. Residents of Wesley Road have decked their homes with St George's Crosses to back our boys in Portugal.
Despite the agonising last-minute defeat to France on Sunday, residents vowed to fly the flag until the last ball of Euro 2004 is kicked.
Trowbridge town councillor and resident Marcus Francis said: "It has brought everyone together."
People spent two days climbing ladders to pin strings of flags across the street.
Sue Leighfield said: "This isn't Wesley Road anymore, this is England Road. We are keeping all the decorations up whatever happens. We are just waiting for the council to come around and tell us we cannot do it."
