28356/1THE crowning of the carnival princess and butterfly queen was the highlight of Trowbridge Hospital's family fun day at the weekend.
Kaylee Flexon and Selena Burke were chosen and crowned at the event and were presented with trophies from competition sponsors Colborne Trophies of Silver Street.
Also winning through was 11-month-old Rebecca Gray, who won the hospital's baby competition.
The annual event attracted big crowds and raised about £2,000 for the Friends of Trowbridge Hospital, beating last year's total by about £500.
June Dallimore, from the Friends, said: "It was a good day and I think everyone really enjoyed themselves."
There was a range of entertainment on offer to suit all tastes, from performers from the Starry Eyes talent contest to a jazz band.
There was also a tug of war competition with Trowbridge Rugby Club battling Wiltshire Fire Brigade and coming off the worse.
The event was opened by Norman Basson of Canal Road firm Premier Global, who also presented a personal cheque to the hospital in thanks for its care for his family.
