13408-26THE people of Marlborough were delighted to see Camilla Parker-Bowles when she turned up in the town during the Prince of Wales' visit but they don't want to see her as the Queen of England.

Mrs Parker-Bowles attended the celebrations to mark the 800th anniversary of the town getting its royal charter from King John in 1204

She is a trustee of the Bobby Van Trust, an organisation that visits the homes of elderly and vulnerable people after they have been the victims of crime and carries out work to improve their security.

She arrived at the Merchant's House museum in the High Street at 11.20am, just as the Prince of Wales was leaving Marlborough College and was met by the Mayor of Marlborough, Graham Francis. He led him to the town hall.

He visited Waitrose to see how the store was marketing produce from the farms of the Duchy of Cornwall, owned by him.

He and Mrs Parker-Bowles posed outside the town's Merchant's house for photographs before Mrs Parker-Bowles introduced the prince to Alan Weston, the operations manager of the Bobby Van.

Resident Micky Graham, said: "It was good to see her. I feel they should be married, but she shouldn't be queen."
