THE Alzheimer's Society has thanked its volunteers across Swindon, North Wiltshire and beyond for their help in raising thousands of pounds.
Volunteers wracked their brains to come up with ways of raising money for the society, which supports research into the degenerative brain condition.
It also offers comfort to sufferers and their loved ones.
Most victims are elderly, but a substantial number are middle aged or younger.
Charity spokeswoman Tracey Berrelly said: "Our volunteers have been very busy throughout the area.
"We want to thank them, as well as the many people who responded to their appeals for donations."
Fundraising events included:
A booksale held in the atrium of Swindon's Nationwide headquarters, which raised £310.
A recent street collection in Wootton Bassett, which raised £145.
Various other plant sales, book sales, street collections and sponsored events.
The society says it is vital fundraising continues welcomes ideas from members of the public.
