HISTORY came alive in Highworth over the weekend when visitors to the church came face-to-face with the past.
The Meet the Ancestors exhibition took visitors on a whistlestop tour of the town's history.
Scenes with costumed models depicted historical moments from a Roman kitchen to early 1900 household appliances and memorabilia.
Organiser Gerry Edwards said: "The town has a fascinating history, as Highworth was once the most important settlement in the area. "
The exhibition was staged as part of the Highworth Festival at St Michael's Church.
The festival runs until December with the highlights on September 11 and 12 with a grand parade .
