Ref. 25077A UNIQUE joint flypast by the Red Arrows and the Patrouille de France display teams is being planned as the highlight of an Anglo-French aerial spectacular at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford, on July 17 and 18.

To mark the centenary of the signing of the historic Entente Cordiale, the organisers will be pairing a variety of British and French aircraft to illustrate the special bonds that continue to unite the two countries.

The RIAT is among a handful of special events selected by the UK Govern-ment to host official MoD sponsored Entente Cordiale celebrations.

On the ground, visitors to the tattoo will be able to sample the sights and sounds of a British World War One airfield in northern France as historic aircraft and costumed actors recreate the atmosphere of the time.

Other attractions include a special Entente Cordiale exhibition, a model of the Anglo-French Concorde plus classic aircraft from both countries.

There will also be the chance to enjoy quality French and British cuisine together live entertainment.

Celebrations to mark the centenary of the Entente Cordiale forms only one part of a stunning eight-hour flying display that will see many of the world's state-of-the-art aircraft take to the skies.

These will include the Eurofighter Typhoon, the B-2A Stealth bomber, the Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet and the F-117A Stealth fighter.

Also taking part will be several of the world's top aerobatics teams including the Red Arrows, Patrouille de France and the UK debut of Finland's Midnight Hawks.

Other highlights will include an explosive one-hour aerial tribute to mark the 60th anniversary of D-Day, featuring around 20 World War Two aircraft.
