Ref. 30052-17PLAY equipment has arrived at Liddington playing fields following a lottery grant and celebrations are planned for next Sunday with a picnic for villagers.
The Friends of Liddington Playing fields has spent £27,000 on equipment for young children following the £22,300 lottery grant.
But a teenager who ran a campaign to get a skateboard ramp for part of the area is disappointed that new equipment has arrived for a play area but no sign of anything for skate boarders.
James Tutt, 13, collected 90 signatures asking for a small ramp to be included and made a presentation to the parish council at a meeting.
He said: "There was a lot of support for our ramp and not just from people who want to use it.
"It wouldn't just be for skaters, but for roller-bladers and people on bikes too.
"There is nothing for older children to do in the village they just hang around.
"I have been told that someone is looking in to it but I feel that no one is listening.
New play equipment includes swings, slide, roundabout, swinger, goalposts and a climbing frame.
The old equipment had become unsafe.
The Friends are planning a bring-your-own picnic party for Sunday.
