AN impressive line-up of the latest cars on the market attracted scores of visitors to this year's Salisbury Motor Show at the weekend.
Staged by Salisbury Newspapers, publishers of the Salisbury, Amesbury and Forest Journal and the Avon Advertiser series, in conjunction with Spire FM, this year's two-day event gave drivers the chance to get a glimpse of the very latest models on the market.
Against the backdrop of the Pembroke estate at Wilton Park, potential buyers had the pick of more than 250 models from all the leading dealerships in and around Salisbury, on 22 different stands.
Quad bikes, refreshments and a bouncy castle helped keep the younger set amused, as did a dedicated showground, displaying a selection of vintage and classic cars.
ShoVisitors to Salisbury Motor Show at the weekend.w organiser Steve Collins said: "Most of the area's leading dealerships are here and I thank them for their support, because without them, we wouldn't have a show.
"The event is really to promote the cars and vehicles prior to the September registration.
"In a couple of months, when people are starting to think about what they want to buy, we have put it all under one roof, and customers can see all the cars they want to see in about an hour.
"People can pop in and book a test drive and get some details about the car they want."
Meeting his fans and signing autographs was local racing driver Alan Blencowe, who was at the event alongside his race-prepared Honda Civic Type R.
Show oranisers estimated that between 4,000 and 5,000 people attended the show over the two days.
Plans are already in the pipeline for a similar event at the same venue next year.
