WOOLWORTHS has announced it has made a dozen people redundant in Swindon.
The 12 are junior managers based at the Wincanton Logistics depot in Faraday Road in Dorcan.
Wincanton is a Woolworth's contractor, although the sacked people are Woolworth's employees, not Wincanton staff. Woolworth's spokeswoman Elena Antoniou said: "We can confirm Woolworth's made a dozen roles redundant. We're now in a 30-day consultation period with those affected individuals. There are no more planned for the foreseeable future." Woolworth's could not confirm last night what the reason behind the redundancies was.
