The Archbishop of Canterbury with the Rev Keith Robinson, rector of St Martin's, Salisbury.SALISBURY hosted a visit last week by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams.
The archbishop was in the city on Tuesday to preach at a special service at St Martin's Church for the rector, Father Keith Robinson, who is celebrating the silver jubilee of his ordination to the priesthood this year.
Dr Williams was Father Robinson's tutor at Westcott House, Cambridge, and took part in the laying on of hands at his ordination 25 years ago.
Barry Makin, administrator at St Martin's, said: "Keith is very humbled that he agreed to come on this occasion."
The Bishop of Salisbury, the Right Reverend David Stancliffe, the Bishop of Ramsbury, the Right Reverend Peter Hullah and the Bishop of Ebbsfleet, the Right Reverend Andrew Burnham, also attended the service, along with many of Father Robinson's present and past clergy friends.

The archbishop took up the theme of The Holy Name in his sermon, focussing on the name and person of Jesus.
Father Robinson said: "The sermon was amusing, informative and made you think," and added that the evening was "wonderful and overwhelming".
About 230 people attended the service, which was followed by a buffet supper for 100 invited guests.
