Cattistock 152-7 lost to Fovant 153-2 by eight wickets
PUT into bat, Cattistock's batsmen were contained by accurate bowling and enthusiastic fielding.
Martin Langford made 25 and shared a partnership of 60 with his father Edward, who batted intelligently to make 52 before he had the temerity to attempt and audacious single to Albert Wright, whose lightning reflexes belied his age, resulting in a run-out.
Tom Parnell bowled nine overs for just 13 runs and Mark Cuff took 2-16.
By contrast, Alistair Scott-Gall was in majestic form, striking the ball ferociously to all parts of the ground and making 88 not out.
Mike Thatcher made an unobtrusive 14 in an opening partnership of 56, Hugo Scott-Gall made 31 and Fovant achieved their target in just 22 overs.
