Business Link Berkshire and Wiltshire has reminded companies to ask for help when trying to find fundingfor research and development.
Studies have shown that companies that spend on research are more likely to succeed in the long term.
BLBW has a team of specialists dedicated to identifying possible sources of money, including Depart-ment of Trade and Industry grants.
These grants can range from £10,000 for micro projects those that cost up to £20,000 in total to £550,000 super projects, which have a total cost of up to £1.5 million.
BLBW business advisor Bob Haggitt said: "Over the past 30 months, £4 million has been awarded via research and development grants to 49 businesses supported by BLBW.
"This is a real testament to the strong innovative trait of SMEs in this region."
