Ref. 30988-43A HARDY team from Uniq, in Wootton Bassett, managed to conquer the Three Peaks challenge over the weekend.
Six walkers and two drivers from the financial services company braved the elements and made it to the top of Snowdon in Wales, Scafell Pike, in the Lake District and Ben Nevis, in Scotland.
The team just missed the 24-hour target but only by 30 minutes reaching the Ben Nevis summit at 9.30am on Sunday.
Credit controller Maureen Gilchrist, who was one of the drivers, said: "It went very well, although everyone was tired and emotional after the sleep deprivation.
"Going up Scafell Pike was the hardest, as it was dark and the rain was lashing down."
While the walkers were struggling to come down in the pitch black, Maureen found herself with the difficult task of trying to cook chilli in the open air in the darkness.
However, most of the team still managed to make it into work on Monday morning.
They raised about £2,000 for Caravan, the benevolent charity for grocers, of which Uniq is an associate.
