BUDDING Fat Boy Slims and Tim Westwoods are being offered the chance to show what they can do on the decks.
A new free course aiming to help youngsters move from their bedroom mixing decks to becoming real DJs has been launched in Swindon. The training workshop at the Park youth centre gives them a chance to work with professionals, learn new techniques, make demo tapes and understand basic sequencing and mixing.
Beats, bars and phrasing, software programming and health and safety are also included on the agenda. The project has been funded through the Parks and East Walcot Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership.
Trainees who complete the course will be rewarded with a certificate of achievement at the end of the programme.
