CARRIE-ANN Savage and classmates at Grange Junior School were bowled over yesterday when lessons were suspended for a spot of cricket.
Energy provider, npower, visited the school in Grange Drive, Swindon to deliver a lesson in teamwork.
As part of its commitment to the community, the company tours schools across the UK, giving lessons on a host of topics.
Grange Junior was chosen because Carrie-Ann's mum, Sharon, who is an npower employee at Mistral House, Swindon took part in a competition on the firm's website and she was declared the winner.
Mrs Savage said: "Carrie-Ann and her friends really looked forward to a reward after their SAT tests.
"It was a relief after all their hard work. They thoroughly deserved it."
During the day pupils also made their own cricket flag and a special pole to hoist it on.
Liz Gater, npower's education officer, said: "We have hundreds of employees and thousands of customers in this area.
"So it's important to us to invest our time and energy in what's important to them.
"We aimed to deliver the activities in a fun and exciting day for the pupils who came along."
There were more than 110 Year 6 pupils from Grange Junior School who took part in the event.
