THE England fan stabbed to death during celebrations after the Euro 2004 victory over Croatia has been named.
Stephen Smith, 28, from Wolverhampton, was stabbed in the heart in Lisbon during an attempted robbery.
Ukrainian pickpocket Vadym Abramov, 31, was arrested and was due to appear in court yesterday.
The tragedy happened in the Rua Augusta, just off the Portuguese capital's main Rossio Square, at 3.30am.
Portuguese police said the stabbing was not football-related.
They urged England fans to continue their peaceful mood of recent days.
