Hullavington mum Kate Ayliffe hasn't joined a punk band, her cropped purple hair is just a fund-raising stunt.
Mrs Ayliffe was sponsored to transform her long brown locks into a spiky purple crop, and all the money is going towards Happy Caterpillars nursery.
Happy Caterpillars, where Mrs Ayliffe's son goes, has been homeless since Hullavington Village Hall burnt down.
Mrs Ayliffe said: "Happy Caterpillars used to be held in the village hall, but now we are using a room at Malmesbury Primary School. It is just a temporary thing and we are trying to raise the money for a permanent home.
"My long brown hair was my trademark so it was a bit nerve wracking getting it all cut off, but I have had a really good response from people.
"Happy Caterpillars is a great nursery and it would be really sad if it couldn't find a real home."
Mrs Ayliffe has a four year-old son Louis, who currently attends Happy Caterpillars, while her younger son Elliot, two, is hoping to join shortly.
She has already raised more than £500 in pledges since the new haircut, which was done by Jane at Creative Hairdressing in Malmesbury.
