MORE than 50 excited children, parents and staff went on a toddle for charity last week and raised about £500 for Barnardo's in the process.
The 'toddlers', big and small, were all from Key Day Nursery in London Road, Chippenham, and were participating in the Big Toddle for Barnardo's, a nationwide event to raise money for needy children.
And they certainly went to town with fancy dress outfits ranging from Action Man to ballerinas and even Power Rangers.
The staff also got into the spirit of the event, dressing as fairies for the half-mile walk around Monkton Park.
Nursery manager Becky Bailey said: "We heard about the event but had never taken part before so we thought it would be lovely to get involved.
"We do lots of fund-raising here at Key, but the Big Toddle gave us the opportunity to take part in something that the children and the staff could enjoy.
"The staff looked great in their fairy costumes and the children had a wonderful time parading around the park with us and their mums and dads dressed as their favourite characters.
"In the afternoon we also had a cake sale and fun and games.
"Our sponsorship and donations are expected to reach about £500, which is fantastic. It was lovely to have such fun whilst raising funds for a very worthwhile charity."
