Alistair Henry, formerly a partner at City firm Speechly Bircham and niche property firm Maxwell Batley, has recently joined Withy King Commercial's property department as a partner.
Alistair spent seven years as a solicitor with Herbert Smith and subsequently practised as a barrister at the bar.
His dual qualification, which is unusual in the legal profession, enables him to offer a one-stop service to developers, property owners and investors, covering all areas from site identification/ assembly to development, lettings and/or sales, including drafting and negotiating and advocacy at planning inquiries, if required.
Alistair has a wealth of experience in property investment and development, planning and environmental law.
His recent work includes advising major property companies and institutional investors on structuring a wide range of transactions and development projects.
Alistair has also advised extensively on the redevelopment and letting of substantial City properties, both for owners and occupiers.
Chris Kane, head of Withy King Commercial, said: "Alistair's extensive commercial property experience acquired at leading City law firms will strengthen our ability to offer City expertise at a regional price.
"In addition, his dual qualification as a solicitor and barrister means that we are one of only a few south west law firms who can provide our clients with a comprehensive range of property services incorporating planning appeals and public inquiries as well as the usual transactional work."
Alistair Henry will be based at the Swindon office but advises clients throughout Wiltshire.
