DEVELOPERS have agreed to pay £50,000 to Luckington Primary School if planning permission for ten homes is granted for the Bell Field.
Two weeks ago Cirencester-based Colborn Homes refused a request by North Wiltshire district councillors to pay the contribution, saying it was not required to under legislation.
Instead, the firm offered £20,000 in what it described as a non-negotiable gesture of goodwill.
But council planning officers said on Monday the firm has agreed to increase its contribution to £50,000.
Members of the council's development control committee, who earlier this month put off making a decision on the housing plan in light of the £20,000 offer, were yesterday due to reconsider the matter.
Colborn Homes wants to build two and three-bedroom homes on the southern part of the Bell Field set back from the Street, leaving more than half the site as public open space.
The application has generated dozens of letters of objection, including one from North Wiltshire MP James Gray, while others wrote in support, saying more housing was desperately needed in the village.
