Chippenham v Lansdown: A HUGELY disappointing batting display from Chippenham saw Lansdown wrap up a 106-run victory with 15 overs to spare.
Lansdown won the toss and elected to bat first at Chippenham's Hardenhuish Park ground.
Chippenham did strike an early blow when Craig Sinclair was caught by Pinchen off the bowling of Jace Lawson for three runs.
That left Lansdown on 6-1 but their next partnership between Alban and David Coppin steadied the ship as they put on 90 runs between them.
Coppin made 33 before being sent back to the pavilion when he was bowled lbw by Steve Richardson.
Alban made 56 before he was caught by Ian Merryweather off a Richard Bates' delivery.
The visitors' wobble continued as they were reduced to 105-4 when Julian Mitchell was caught by Trevor Lloyd off Richardson's bowling without making a run.
It was Tim Barton, batting at number five for Lansdown, who calmed things down and got the visitors back on track.
His partnership with Lewis Gegg helped add 50 runs before the latter was stumped by Pinchen off the bowling of Richard Bates.
Barton then got the runs ticking over with Paul Jarvis as Lansdown took their total to 208 before Jarvis was bowled by Bates for 24.
Upton took to the wicket with Barton and the pair saw out the end of Lansdown's 50 overs.
Barton finished on 32 not out and Upton six not out as Lansdown closed on 214-6. Richard Bates (3-47) and Steve Richardson (2-34) were the pick of the Chippenham bowlers.
Chippenham needed to make a good solid start but they lost wickets early and struggled to recover.
Bates was bowled lbw by Jarvis for eight and fellow opener Mark Hunt followed soon after when he was caught by Upton off the bowling of Mike Tombs for 12.
Chippenham were reduced to 28-3 when Ian Merryweather was caught by Louis Gegg off Fairhead's bowling for five. Things only improved slightly for the home side as Jack Humphrys added some runs.
But they then lost another three wickets in quick succession as Lansdown took a stranglehold on the game.
Jace Lawton was bowled by Tombs for five, Humphrys was caught by Gegg off Jarvis for 22 and Paul Bates was removed by Jarvis for a duck.
That left Chippenham on 69-6 and Adam Croutier only made two runs before being bowled by Jarvis.
Trevor Lloyd showed some resistance to the Lansdown attack but Chippenham were running out of wickets quickly.
Richardson was bowled by Dunning for ten runs and the same bowler removed Pinchen for a duck.
Lloyd top scored for Chippenham with 30 before he was stumped by Gegg off the bowling of Sinclair.
Will Couzens was left on three not out as Chippenham were all out for 108 after 35.3 overs.
Jarvis was the pick of the Lansdown bowlers taking four wickets for 29 runs.
