CHIPPENHAM U15 reached the final of the county stage of the Portman National Club Championship with a nine wicket victory at Corsham.
Sam Collier (47 off 60 balls) and Jamie Wales (33 off 44 balls) gave Corsham a fine start with an opening partnership of 90 in 15 overs but accurate bowling in the last few overs restricted Corsham to 115-4 in their 20 overs.
Scott Mackie took 2-23 for Chippenham. In reply, Liam Dawson dominated the innings scoring 67 not out off just 51 balls including 13 fours and one six. Supported by Phil Adams (32 not out off 27 balls), Dawson saw Chippenham home by 9 wickets with five overs to spare.
Chippenham play the winners of Biddestone v South Wilts in the final at Swindon on July 7.
Chippenham U11 continue to lead the Bath and District League following an impressive 78 run victory at home to Frome. Batting first, Joshua Bull (41) and Brad Dawson (35 not out) gave Chippenham an excellent start.
Uzi Qureshi then scored a rapid 30 not out to take Chippenham to 132-1 in their 16 overs.
In reply, Frome had no answer to accurate Chippenham bowling as the wickets were shared amongst Dawson (2-2), Imraj Heer (2-11), George Beard (1-2), Andrew Edwards (1-7) and Jack Young (1-7). Frome finished on 54-8.
Chippenham U13 remain close on the heels of Bath in the Bath and District League as their unbeaten run continued with a comprehensive 103 run defeat of Warminster.
Fluent batting from Tom Young (57), James Bull (24), Marcus Brown (23) and Steven Bullen (22) enabled Chippenham to post 164-5 in their 20 overs.
Off spinner Brad Dawson then destroyed the Warminster batting taking 5 wickets for 3 runs in his 4 overs.
Uzi Qureshi (2-6), Ashley Shipton (1-4), James Bull (1-9) and Josh Partridge (1-2) were the other wicket takers as Warminster were dismissed for just 61 in 18.4 overs.
