HEALTH bosses have one candidate to interview for the post of joint chief executive for Kennet and North Wiltshire Primary Care Trust and West Wiltshire Primary Care Trust.
Tim Boucher, the chairman of Kennet and North Wiltshire PCT, said on Tuesday that four candidates had been shortlisted of which two had withdrawn their applications shortly before their interviews were to take place.
Mr Boucher said they interviewed another candidate who they had decided not to appoint, leaving one more candidate who would be interviewed in early July.
Stephen Golledge, acting joint chief executive of both trusts, is due to finish his secondment at the end of August.
He was brought in from West Gloucestershire Primary Care Trust when Barbara Smith resigned suddenly as chief executive of Kennet and North Wiltshire PCT last September.
When Donna Stiles resigned as chief executive of West Wiltshire PCT in April to go and work as a silversmith in Italy, Mr Golledge became acting joint chief executive and the boards of both trusts decided to appoint a joint chief executive.
