PEOPLE who see unsightly weeds growing at the roadside can call a special team of weed busters at Kennet District Council.
Wiltshire County Council has provided funding to Kennet to set up a dedicated team of staff to react to calls to remove weeds from roads and footpaths in the district.
The funding will enable the team to manually remove weeds for the remainder of the growing season.
Coun Peter Evans, Kennet's environment champion, said: "The county council's highway maintenance contractors spray the weeds in the majority of the district.
"But we still tend to receive calls from residents about hotspot areas within the district that look unsightly and suffer from weed growth.
"If residents are aware of areas they consider are unsightly or where the weeds are causing a hazard please call our contact centre and report them to us and we will react as soon as we are able."
