SINGERS are needed for an African- style township choir that will be part of the Marlborough Jazz Festival on the weekend of July 9 to 11.
This is the fourth year that town councillor Caroline Jackson has organised the choir.
It's based on a Zulu township choir and people of 16 and over are wanted to take part in a concert in the Marlborough International Jazz Festival marquee in the Priory Gardens.
The choir will appear with the Mbawula Zulu Band and over the past three years this has been one of the high spots of the jazz weekend.
The choir will perform at 6pm on Saturday July 10 and there are two rehearsals which members must be able to attend on Saturday July 3 from 10am to 5pm and on the day of the performance from 10am to 11am.
Anyone interested in joining in should contact Mrs Jackson on (01672) 515700 or the Marlborough jazz festival office (01672) 515095.
For the first time St Peter's School in The Parade will be hosting events in this year's jazz festival.
